Children's Classes The Children's Program is for students five years old and older. Our objective is to help children widen their horizon through basic instruction in Japanese language and Japanese culture.
Beginning Level 1 & 2 Beginning level study emphasizes speaking more in sentences than the study of phrases or vocabulary. There is a continuous study of Hiragana reading in sentences and writing. Katakana and very limited Kanji are introduced. Intermediate Level 1 & 2 Intermediate students work to increase their vocabulary and continue their study of Kanji and Katakana. Class work includes reading stories and writing assignments such as keeping a diary. Advanced Level 1 & 2 Primarily composed of Junior High and High School pupils, advanced level students are introduced to more complicated sentence patterns and vocabulary. Class work includes intensive study of reading, grammar, Kanji, discussion, etc.Students also take the Japan Foundation Japanese Proficiency Test. The Children's Program uses the following text books:
Special Offer Parents with children enrolled at LBJLS are offered tuition free instruction (excluding registration and materials)
Tutors are available to assist students that may be having difficulty with studies.
